Experience the enchanting performance of Uke Springsteen – Nebraska by BS Roberts, debuting in 2023. Set aside any potential preconceptions about the ukulele as Roberts transcends stereotypes, weaving a tapestry of sound that delves deep into the essence of Bruce Springsteen’s album.

In this scaled-down, reflective context, Roberts’ skills on the ukulele shine, surprising even non-uke fans with remarkable sounds. While the premise may suggest novelty, the substance of Roberts’ performance quickly takes centre stage, demonstrating stripped-back minimalism.

As a skilled interpreter, Roberts guides listeners through each track, balancing faithful renderings with subtly changed arrangements. It’s in the relatively lesser-known tracks where the show truly shines for some, offering a fresh perspective on Springsteen’s evocative lyrics and chords.

Embark on a unique musical journey as Roberts breathes new life into Springsteen’s gem. He invites audiences to immerse themselves in the significance of every lyric and chord. These interpretations are more than just a tribute; they leave a mark on all who experience it.

Roberts has grasped Nebraska with both hands, and held it victoriously aloft. From the start, he takes control of the songs, making them his own, yet never strays from the essence of Springsteen’s intent. – Arna Eyers-White, The Barefoot Review 4.5 stars
