Corporate Choir Challenge – registration page
Continuing our mission to get workplaces singing!
$1,700 per choir
The Corporate Choir Challenge’s aim is to provide workplace team members the opportunity to gather and rediscover the powerful benefits of group singing.
The age-old practice of singing together has risen in popularity across teams around the world especially during Covid-19 when it became common practice to have video singalongs from home offices. We know that this form of musical connectivity improves productivity, sense of wellbeing, collegiality and job satisfaction.
Festival of Voices has brought people together through song since 2005. The Corporate Choir Challenge, piloted in 2019, is a combination of learning, development and performance with all teaching and support provided by the festival.
We are inviting you and your team, office, organisation or committee to create a choir, choose a song from our carefully curated selection, enrol in our coaching and rehearsal program (delivered by our dedicated choral coaches), and then present your song to a live audience and selected judges, on the big stage at the Federation Concert Hall! Workplace participants commonly report a rekindled love of singing, while strengthening relationships with colleagues through their shared experience.
In 2024 we are offering 15 choirs the chance to earn the coveted title of Best Corporate Choir. There is a superb coaching program from our highly skilled Corporate Choir team led by Johanna van Tienen, plus individual and overall prizes on the night.
Tax deductible workshop fee
In 2023, the workshop fee will be $1,700 per choir, which is tax deductible, plus a small $10 booking and handling fee for registration.
All coaching and support provided
Participation in the Corporate Choir Challenge includes
- multiple coaching sessions with a professional singing coach
- all the support to ensure your workplace is set up well for additional rehearsals run in-house
- sheet music, words, backing tracks & learning materials all provided
We will help you and your choir learn some of the basic key choral ingredients, from figuring out your voice type, how to rehearse, and warm-ups right through to honing your “Choralography” and performance skills before you hit the Federation Concert Hall stage! We support you online and in person to ensure you are well-prepared. Coaching support is also supplied for your choral leader(s).
A list of song choices will be provided to all choirs following the close of registrations. Sheet music and recorded rehearsal tracks are supplied when your song choice is confirmed. Your vocal coach/accompanist will support you at your two allocated workplace rehearsals, at the weekend rehearsal and your performance on stage.
We’re here to help you find your individual and collective voice, sing your hearts out and have lots of fun participating in what’s going to be a really fun, (ever-so-slightly) competitive choir challenge.

Supporting the local community

Five great reasons why your team should take part!
- Singing benefits your immune system by reducing the stress hormone cortisol and boosting the Immunoglobin A antibody
- It can forge social bonds in large groups and improve our broader social networks
- It can enhance memory and improve mental health
- It improves breathing, posture and muscle tension
- Singing is 100% free!
We’ve dug into the data from across the world; businesses that have encouraged and implemented staff choirs have seen stronger employee recruitment and retention, enhanced employee engagement, increased teamwork, and leadership skills.
