The Big Sing

The Big Sing

Join us for our largest annual singalong

Sat 29 June – 5.00 pm
PW1 Forecourt, Salamanca
Free

From a humble ’round-the-fire singalong in 2005, the Festival of Voices’ preeminent event, The Big Sing, has flourished. As we proudly enter our 19th year, we reflect on how this annual gathering has solidified its place as Tasmania’s premier winter festival and Australia’s most notable singing festival. Join us on Saturday, 29th June 2024, where you’ll find us around the glow of fires, marking the opening of another year of celebration in song.

The Big Sing brings together a diverse array of local and interstate artists, fostering an inclusive haven for music enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. It’s a family-oriented event where you’re encouraged to rug up and brave the Tasmanian winter with food, drink, and warmed-up windpipes for our biggest yearly singalong. With a varied song selection, there’s something for everyone to join in, culminating in an informal ‘lesson’ led by local musician Jude Elliot and the well-known personality John X, ensuring all can participate in the final song of the night.

The Big Sing is a joyful occasion where community unites through the power of music. Open to all, there are no barriers to entry – no costs, no ticket registrations. Just bring yourself, your loved ones, warm clothes, and a willingness to join the chorus of voices. It’s a testament to the warmth that creativity and music bring, even amidst Tasmania’s winter chill. Festivities commence with a Welcome to Country at 5.00 pm, followed by artists celebrating the spirit of community, creativity, and the transformative power of song.

Stay tuned for the full line-up and setlist, which will be shared closer to the date!
