The Pop-up Program extends the Festival of Voices beyond the stage, into streets, markets, cafés, galleries, and public spaces across Tasmania.

These free, informal choral performances may surprise and will definitely delight audiences, giving your choir the chance to connect with people in a joyful, spontaneous way. Whether you’re a Tasmanian Choir, Touring Choir, or Youth Choir, Pop-ups are a unique opportunity to share your music with audiences in all sorts of different spaces.

For participating singers, Pop-ups are a highlight of the Festival. They offer:

Unique performance experiences in vibrant public spaces, from Hobart’s waterfront to regional markets and community halls.

The opportunity to perform as part of the Pop-up Program is included for registered Touring Choirs, Tasmanian Choirs, and Youth Choirs, making it a key reason choristers choose to join the Festival.

Pop-up performances are free and open to everyone. Audiences can expect to be surprised by impromptu bursts of song in cafés, markets, breweries, galleries, and various other spaces. How to get involved

Choristers interested in participating in the 2026 Pop-up Program should register as a Touring Choir, Tasmanian Choir, or Youth Choir. Registration ensures your choir is part of the Festival and included in the schedules for performance opportunities.
