Tasmanian Choir Package

Tasmanian choirs are invited to participate in this weekend program created specifically for community choirs.
Included in this program is:
- Participation in workshops presented by Paul Jarman and Chris Burcin at Hobart Town Hall on Saturday 7.
- Free entry to the Singers’ Lounge on either Saturday 7 July or Sunday 8 July (valued at $15)
- Choirs will be offered a minimum of 1 or 2 Pop-Up performances, preferably on Friday 6 July or Monday 9 July. Expressions of interest close on 18 April.
- Opportunity for participating choirs to perform in one of two ‘Sharing Our Music’ concerts. Expressions of interest should be emailed to email@example.com by the choir conductors no later than 18 June.
Saturday 7 July
Singers are invited to attend both the morning and the afternoon session of their choice. By dividing the groups, singers will have the opportunity to work at the level at which they feel most comfortable.
Morning Session 9:30am – 11:30am
“Learning by Rote”: Paul Jarman will work with singers who love learning by rote or have limited experience with reading music notation.
“Learning Old, New and Interesting Repertoire”: Chris Burcin will work with singers who are comfortable reading printed music.
Afternoon Session 1:30pm – 3:30pm
“Sing Paul’s Songs”: Paul Jarman will share some of his more recent compositions which he has written for more experienced singers and readers.
“Discover some varied and interesting repertoire for Community Choirs” with Chris Burcin.
Sharing Our Music Concert 1: 12pm – 12:45pm (maximum 3 choirs will be performing)
Sharing Our Music Concert 2: 4pm -5pm (maximum 4 choirs will be performing)
Singers’ Lounge: Long Gallery, Salamanca Arts Centre. Sat 7 July or Sun 8 July from 7:30pm until late.
The City of Hobart Big Sing Bonfire will take place on Sunday 8 July at 5pm at Salamanca Place. We invite everyone to come and join us for this iconic winter event.
