An extraordinary evening of choral music from around the world.
Vocal music — or simply song — has a powerful ability to transcend borders, languages and backgrounds, expressing something deeply human that connects us all. The magic of singing together is something to truly treasure.
This concert brings together three internationally acclaimed vocal ensembles for a night of exceptional choral performance:
- Luminata Voices (New Zealand)
- Veus – Amics de la Unió (Catalonia)
- Sjaella (Germany)
Each group will perform a curated selection of a cappella works that reflect the traditions and voices of their homelands, spanning from the 15th to the 21st centuries. Expect folk songs, contemporary works, and pieces by celebrated composers — brought to life through expressive staging and seamless musicality.
This is no ordinary concert — it’s an invitation to listen deeply, connect across cultures, and witness something truly special.
Pre-concert talk at 6.45 pm
To enrich your concert experience, we warmly invite you to attend a special pre-concert talk, beginning when doors open at 6.45 pm. You’ll hear brief introductions to each performing group and enjoy the opportunity to meet Alice Chance, the talented young Australian composer whose newly commissioned work Letterbox will receive its world premiere during the performance.
Members of the choirs will also share insights into select repertoire and translations, offering a deeper appreciation of the cultural stories behind the music. Ushers will guide early arrivals to the front rows — these seats will later be used by the choirs after their performances. A short break will follow the talk before the concert begins, giving you time to find your allocated seat.
