    Lullabies to share and treasure

Immerse yourself in the gentle art of singing and sharing beautiful age-old lullabies from around the globe, from Cairo to Cape Barren Island. Discover traditional songs and stories to treasure and pass onto your children and grandchildren.

Lullabies are among humanity’s earliest musical traditions; a powerful and intimate way of connecting with, regulating and nurturing babies and children through the human voice.  Sung softly and repetitively, lullabies help foster neural pathways, link language and memory, and support emotional grown during early development.

Polly Christie and Allison Walsh will lead you into the magical journey of this beautiful and rich repertoire.  Through gorgeous harmonies and shared singing, they will guide you through the art of lilting lullaby song, exploring both its musical beauty and its deeper purpose.

Come along and embrace these timeless melodies, and take songs home to soothe, connect and share with those you love.

We would be honoured to contribute to [the festival] by offering a space of gentleness, reflection and shared song – reminding participants of the profound power of the human voice, especially in the earliest moments of life.

    Who should register?

This workshop is open to singers of all experience levels, including parents, grandparents, carers, early childhood educators, and anyone interested in sharing songs with young children.  No experience needed, just a willingness to listen, sing, and connect.

    Why participate?

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the power of lullabies and leave with a collection of gentle songs and stories to use at home or their work.  This is a rare opportunity to experience how simple, shared singing can foster calm, connection and care across generations.

    Patron advice

While this workshop is designed for adults, participants are most welcome to bring babies or young children to share the experience.  Children should be accompanied by a participating adult at all times.

    Our pricing model

As a non-profit, we prioritise bringing singing and music to our communities, not maximising income. We work to make our ticket prices as affordable as possible, and we’ve shifted to an early bird pricing model instead of concession pricing. This change focuses on equity, allowing everyone to secure tickets at a reduced price and helping us keep the festival accessible to as many people as possible.

Each event will have a set number of tickets available at the early bird price. Once these are sold, standard prices will apply. This ensures we can cover event costs while keeping the festival sustainable and maintaining affordable options for our audiences.
