    Polly Christie

    Singer, songwriter and educator (VIC)

In 2008, Polly founded the Pollyphonics Choir in the Macedon Ranges, where she has continued to craft vibrant, soulful choral performances that celebrate harmony, community and emotional expression. The choir released its debut CD, marking an exciting milestone in their shared musical journey. Alongside her choral work, Polly performs as a singer and songwriter, collaborating in duets and bands, and frequently performing with her partner, renowned harpist and musician Andy Rigby.

A passionate community builder and creative entrepreneur, Polly launched the Vocal Ranges Festival in Kyneton in 2016, creating a much-loved event that celebrates vocal music, collaboration and local culture. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Education and currently teaches classroom music at a primary school, where she also conducts a vibrant 60-voice choir of students from Grades 3 to 6.

Through her work as a primary school educator, Polly has developed a deep interest in the role music plays in children’s brain development from birth. This curiosity has led her to research, curate and celebrate the power of lullabies as a vital tool for connection, emotional regulation and early neurological growth. She is currently collaborating with harpist and soprano, Allison Walsh to explore this area in more depth. Polly is particularly drawn to how simple, gentle melodies support language development, memory and secure attachment between caregivers and children.

Through her carefully crafted workshops, Polly empowers parents and caregivers to use music as a nurturing and accessible tool for bonding and emotional growth. Her engaging approach blends research-informed insights with practical techniques and interactive activities, making each session a joyful and enriching exploration of music’s magic.

Polly has been featured on ABC Radio National’s The Rhythm Divine and has performed on the folkloric stage at the Woodford Folk Festival. Her work continues to celebrate music as a powerful human force bringing people together, one song at a time.
