    Brewed Rivalry

    Where mateship meets music

    Two a cappella vocal ensembles go head-to-head in a spirited State vs State showcase celebrating pride, camaraderie and the joy of singing together. Adelaide Vocal Union (SA) and Deep South Chorus (TAS) take the stage in a good-natured musical showdown (think Coopers Brewery versus Cascade Brewery!) where state loyalty runs high and the harmonies flow freely. 

    Through dynamic individual sets and rousing combined numbers, each chorus brings its own distinctive sound, style and swagger. Expect bold voices, quick wit and a healthy dose of friendly fire as South Australia and Tasmania “compete” for bragging rights before ultimately joining forces in a powerful celebration of unity. 

    Beneath the rivalry lies something deeper. When men sing together, they build connection, confidence and community. Brewed Rivalry is more than a musical face-off.  It’s a reminder that mateship matters, and that harmony, both on stage and off, makes us stronger.

    Our pricing model

    As a non-profit, we prioritise bringing singing and music to our communities, not maximising income. We work to make our ticket prices as affordable as possible, and we’ve shifted to an early bird pricing model instead of concession pricing. This change focuses on equity, allowing everyone to secure tickets at a reduced price and helping us keep the festival accessible to as many people as possible.

    Each event will have a set number of tickets available at the early bird price. Once these are sold, standard prices will apply. This ensures we can cover event costs while keeping the festival sustainable and maintaining affordable options for our audiences.

    • Early bird-priced tickets are available until the allocation sells out

    Full price $25

     

    Booking fee

    • For bookings with a total value of $30 or less, a booking fee of $4 will be added upon checkout.
    • For bookings with a total value between $30.01 and $199.99, a booking fee of $6 will be added upon checkout.
    • For bookings with a total value of $200 or more, a booking fee of $11 will be added upon checkout.

    FEAT. Live Solar Slice $1 per transaction

    Festival of Voices is proudly partnering with climate impact organisation FEAT. Live! $1 will be donated from every booking fee to the ‘Solar Slice’ initiative.

    This contribution will support an indigenous-led biodiversity restoration program on Lungtalanana Island, Tasmania, aiming to restore habitat for the Bass Strait Wombat and the Long-Nosed Potoroo and reintroduce these species to the island.

    The Peacock Theatre, Salamanca Arts Centre

    Getting to the venue 

    • The Peacock Theatre located on the ground level in Salamanca Arts Centre, 77 Salamanca Pl, Battery Point TAS 7004. There are 2 steps to enter via the main entrance through Tricycle Cafe.
    • Level access is available via the courtyard to the Theatre. If you wish to make use of this, please contact us on [email protected] prior to the event so we can make the necessary arrangements.
    • 2 accessible parking spaces are available outside ‘The Den’ on Salamanca Place. More accessible parks are located on Salamanca Place in a sectioned-off parking lot opposite the restaurant strip.
