    HAYA Band: Migration

Mongolian tradition meets modern world music in an Australian debut

Experience the breathtaking sounds of HAYA Band as they make their Australian debut at Festival of Voices this July. Led by the extraordinary voice of Daiqing Tana, this award-winning ensemble blends traditional Mongolian musical elements with contemporary influences, creating a mesmerising soundscape that transcends borders and generations.

HAYA’s music is deeply rooted in Mongolian traditions, featuring the morin khuur (horse-head fiddle), tanbur, khoomei (throat singing), shaman drums, and ancient chants. These time-honoured sounds are reimagined through a modern lens, resulting in a unique fusion that has captivated audiences worldwide. Their critically acclaimed album Silent Skies is the best-selling soul/world music album in Taiwan, and the group has received numerous accolades, including the Best World Music Performance at the China Music Awards and the Taiwan Golden Melody Award for Best Crossover Music.

Their Migration concert is an immersive journey—an invitation to step away from the fast pace of modern life and enter a realm shaped by nature, tradition, and emotion. With a signature “ceremonial” quality to their performances, HAYA creates an atmosphere of deep reflection and wonder, transporting audiences through evocative melodies and hypnotic rhythms.

Renowned for their ability to bridge cultures through music, HAYA has performed on prestigious stages across the world, enchanting audiences with their dynamic interplay of ancient and modern sounds. Their compositions evoke vast grasslands, echoing with the spirit of nomadic heritage, yet resonate with universal themes of love, longing, and belonging.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to witness HAYA Band’s spellbinding artistry live for the very first time in Australia, only at Festival of Voices.

    Our pricing model

As a non-profit, we prioritise bringing singing and music to our communities, not maximising income. We work to make our ticket prices as affordable as possible, and we’ve shifted to an early bird pricing model instead of concession pricing. This change focuses on equity, allowing everyone to secure tickets at a reduced price and helping us keep the festival accessible to as many people as possible.

Each event will have a set number of tickets available at the early bird price. Once these are sold, standard prices will apply. This ensures we can cover event costs while keeping the festival sustainable and maintaining affordable options for our audiences.
