Festival of Voices

    Apple Shed Shindig

Featuring Wolfefolk, Tuck Shop Ladies, the Wheelie Bin Orchestra, Bonsai Band & Mamma Rosa

Get ready for a night of music, belly laughs, and an unforgettable atmosphere at the Apple Shed Shindig! As part of the Festival of Voices’ 20th-anniversary celebrations, this all-weather event at Willie Smith’s Apple Shed in the heart of the Huon Valley brings together four unique acts in the rustic charm of a historic 1942 apple packing shed. All entertainment takes place outdoors, so be sure to dress warmly and come prepared to embrace a true Tassie winter experience!

    Featuring:

    Wolfefolk
Led by the powerhouse violinist and vocalist Emily Wolfe, Wolfefolk brings foot-stomping Celtic energy. With a mix of traditional Tasmanian tunes, toe-tapping bluegrass, and original compositions, this performance will have you swaying and stomping along.

    Tuck Shop Ladies
Get ready for cheeky, irreverent humour from Sam Lohs and Rosie Burgess, the Australian ukulele folk duo. With tight harmonies, clever lyrics, and a comedic flair, they’ll keep you laughing all night long.

    The Wheelie Bin Orchestra
This dynamic three-piece percussion ensemble creates rhythm-filled magic using wheelie bins as instruments. Their performance is as bangin’ as it is brilliant, showcasing creativity and rhythm like never before.

    Bonsai Band
Feel the indie-pop-rock vibes from Bonsai Band, a fresh five-piece band from Hobart. With dual guitars, keyboards, bass, and drums, they deliver catchy melodies and a laid-back sound that will have you swaying in no time.

And guiding you through the madness is Mamma Rosa – your MC for the night! With sharp wit, big laughs, and plenty of audience antics, the vibrant alter ego of Rose Ottavi-Kokkoris blends comedy, storytelling, and music like no other.

Set against the backdrop of Willie Smith’s Apple Shed, this family-friendly event offers more than just fantastic music. Enjoy delicious food, warming fire pots, and a unique stage truck setup that brings the music up close and personal.

Known for its vibrant atmosphere, this venue is perfect for those who enjoy great food, good company, and incredible entertainment. And as always in Tasmania, be sure to rug up and bring your gumboots—cold and potentially muddy conditions add to the fun!

The Apple Shed Shindig promises an evening you won’t forget. Round up your crew, grab your tickets, and make it a night to remember as part of the Festival of Voices 2025!

    Our pricing model

As a non-profit, we prioritise bringing singing and music to our communities, not maximising income. We work to make our ticket prices as affordable as possible, and we’ve shifted to an early bird pricing model instead of concession pricing. This change focuses on equity, allowing everyone to secure tickets at a reduced price and helping us keep the festival accessible to as many people as possible.

Each event will have a set number of tickets available at the early bird price. Once these are sold, standard prices will apply. This ensures we can cover event costs while keeping the festival sustainable and maintaining affordable options for our audiences.
