Festival of Voices

    Vocalize

    Mixed Voice Choir (SA)

Vocalize is a non-auditioned adult community choir of around 90 singers, based in the south-west of Adelaide.  Singers have a range of experience in choir singing, from very little to quite a lot. They’re a flexible bunch, singing a variety of styles including classical, rock, gospel, pop and anything in between. Singers use sheet music and often memorise their pieces, which are usually sung in 3 or 4 harmony parts and accompanied by piano or backing tracks, or sometimes sung a cappella.

Their performance calendar is always varied and interesting, and they enjoy a good collaboration from time to time. Above all, Vocalize sing for the joy of it, focussing on how music makes them feel and how they can make meaningful connections through song.

This year’s trip to the Festival of Voices includes a performance of Bangers and Mash-Ups, a collaborative show with Queensland-based Soul Song. This show has enjoyed sell-out audiences across Australia and abroad since its debut last year at the Adelaide Fringe. Vocalize will entertain Hobart audiences with toe-tapping tunes and singalong hits sure to warm the soul!
