Festival of Voices

    Sing Australia

    Mixed Voice Choir (TAS)

Sing Australia is a national network of singing groups. There are two groups based in Hobart, one in New Town and one in Kingston, and each year these two groups join together for Festival of Voices.

Sing Australia believes that everyone deserves the chance to sing – no matter their ability or background.  Singing is not only about music, but also about joy, connection, and wellbeing.

Research has shown that singing is amazingly good for you; it helps reduce stress, lifts mood, supports mental health, and even benefits physical wellbeing by improving breathing and circulation.  Just as importantly, singing together builds a sense of belonging. Being part of a national network of community groups such as Sing Australia creates friendships, strengthens connections, and gives everyone the chance to share something truly positive.

Group rehearsals are all about fun and togetherness, not pressure or performance.  Voices naturally grow stronger and more confident with time, but what matters most is the joy of joining in.

At Sing Australia, it is acknowledged that everyone can sing, and that singing is about much more than hitting the “right” notes.  It’s about expressing yourself, feeling uplifted and connecting with others through music.  Together, they create a welcoming community where voices blend, friendships form and everyone belongs.
