    Rose Wilson

    Choir Director & MC (TAS)

Rose Wilson is a singer and choir director who has made her home in Southern Tasmania.

Rose holds a Bachelor of Music with a major in vocal performance, has taught singing and choirs for over 20 years, and has always delighted in singing in as many different styles and exploring as many different instruments as possible.  She also makes it her business to harp on about all the reasons why everyone is allowed to sing (whether they think they’re any good or not), about why it’s learnable, and about how our culture often robs us of the delight of singing-making under the weight of its various baggages around all things creative, to as many people as possible.

Rose loves community choirs- and considers singing a choir one of the most soul-affirming, meaning-making, people-connecting and joy-inducing things a human can do. Rose has run choirs and workshops in many places, and currently runs choirs in the Huon Valley – The Cygnet Song Circle, Cygnet Singamamma, The Little Boat Choir, and the Huon Homeschool Choir, the Magnetic Anomaly Vocal Ensemble- as well as few long distance online choirs and incidental local offerings.
