Redland City Show Choir
Show choir (QLD)
The Redland City Show Choir is a dynamic performance ensemble based in Redland City, Queensland, showcasing a select group of singers drawn from the more than 90 choristers of the community-based, unauditioned Redland City Choir. While the broader choir welcomes singers of all experience levels, membership in the Show Choir is auditioned, bringing together performers with a passion for combining strong vocal performance with movement, stagecraft and theatrical storytelling.
Known for its vibrant energy and engaging stage presence, Redland City Show Choir blends rich vocal harmonies with choreography to deliver polished, contemporary performances that connect with audiences of all ages. The ensemble performs a diverse repertoire spanning pop, musical theatre and well-loved classics, presented with creativity, precision and a strong sense of fun.
The Show Choir provides an opportunity for choristers to further develop performance skills beyond traditional choral singing, building confidence in memorisation, movement and expressive performance. Members come from a wide range of backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to collaboration, musical excellence and the joy of live performance.
Beyond performance, both the Redland City Choir and Redland City Show Choir are deeply committed to community impact. Through concerts, special events and fundraising initiatives, the choirs actively support victims of Domestic and Family Violence, having raised close to $60,000 over recent years to assist local support services and advocacy organisations. This strong culture of giving reflects the choir’s belief that music can be a powerful force for connection, compassion and positive change.
Regularly appearing at community events and concert performances across the Redlands and Southeast Queensland, the choir proudly represents the cultural vibrancy and generosity of its region. Participation in the Festival of Voices provides an opportunity to share this spirit of community, creativity and purpose with audiences and fellow vocal ensembles from across Australia — celebrating the transformative power of singing together.
