Queensland Show Choir 

Queensland Show Choir is one of the only choirs in Australia that you can join and stay for life. Because QSC has choirs for all ages, a singer could start with the kids’ ensemble Poco Voci, move through to Queensland Young Voices (for middle school and teenagers), graduate to VoiceWorks (for young adults), and before joining the 18 and over community choir Vox Populus. This all-ages set-up provides the rare opportunity for entire families to share a creative hobby and to enjoy performing together in concerts and at events.  
 
The other difference you will notice with QSC is that you will immediately feel at home. The caring community you become part of, and the social supports you gain when you become one of us, are truly special. Artistic Director, Kate Schirmer (BMus Hons Class 1/MMusSt), is a highly experienced singing teacher and music educator, currently working at Griffith University as Lecturer in Music and Singing at the Queensland Academy of Excellence in Musical Theatre (QAEMT). She serves as Artistic Director of the Queensland Show Choir and conducts their award-winning young adult ensemble, Voiceworks. Kate presents nationally and internationally to singers, teachers, choristers, and actors and is in demand as an adjudicator. She is an experienced crossover performer with a career spanning Opera, Big Band, Musical Theatre, Cabaret, Contemporary Commercial Music, and even a gig with the Rolling Stones!
