Bindy Stephens
Performer & children’s theatre producer (TAS)
Bindy is Tasmanian writer, performer, and children’s theatre producer, passionate about using theatre as a vehicle to create positive societal change and to help enhance young people’s wellbeing. Her theatre training (BPA Theatre, UTAS), Bell Shakespeare Scholarship, Dance and Drama Teacher Training (B Teach, UTAS), as well as her qualifications in Positive Psychology, propelled her to create her professional Children’s Educational Theatre Company ‘Happy Habits’. The mission of her therapeutic theatre work with ‘Happy Habits’ is to provide opportunities for Tasmanian children who don’t typically have the privilege of seeing live professional theatre, due to means, access, transport, geography, or ability. Bindy was recently honoured with a professional theatre special judges award, for her creativity and innovation to Tasmanian children’s theatre (2025).
