After last year’s sold‑out success, Festival of Voices is thrilled to bring back the Apple Shed Shindig in 2026. Join us for a warm‑hearted, joy‑filled night of singing, dancing and community at Willie Smith’s Apple Shed in Grove.
Local choir legend Rose Wilson will lead the evening for Cider Choir with the brilliant folk band WolfeFolk. Whether you’re a regular singer, someone who belts it out in the car, or simply keen for a lively night out, this event is welcoming, relaxed and totally unscary.
What to expect
In the first half of the evening, Rose will guide you through fun vocal warm‑ups before teaching you a three‑part harmony arrangement of the impossibly uplifting I Will Wait by Mumford & Sons. You’ll learn the whole song in under an hour with a cider (or your drink of choice) in hand, before singing it all the way through with a six‑piece band! It’s the perfect mix of a song and a dance.
After a short break, and a chance to grab another cider, the second half of the night shifts into full‑tilt celebration. WolfeFolk take the stage with a set designed to get feet moving, blending traditional Tasmanian tunes, bluegrass and original songs. You can keep dancing, take in the music, or jump into one of the three sprinkled‑throughout singalong moments featuring well‑known hits, think I Will Survive or Mamma Mia! Rose will lead these rousing crowd moments, keeping the energy high and the room buzzing.
Expect joyful group karaoke moments, spontaneous dance breaks and plenty of laughter throughout the night.
Come to sing it out, stay for a drink, enjoy the Apple Shed hospitality with a meal, join the dancing or simply soak up the atmosphere. No experience necessary, just a willingness to have a good time!
The Apple Shed will be open for meals and drinks which guests can enjoy throughout the night. Share some of the smaller items on the menu with a cider or two in good company or grab a table and enjoy a meal followed by Willie Smith’s famous Apple Pie.
Please note the ticket price does not include meals and drinks, which can be purchased at the Apple Shed throughout the night with doors open from 5pm.
