Festival of Voices

    Emma Pask: Two Out

One of Australia’s leading jazz voices delivering timeless style and energy

Two Out is a chance to catch one of Australia’s finest voices up close and personal, in this beautifully intimate duo setting of voice and piano.

Award‑winning vocalist Emma Pask, discovered as a teenager by jazz great James Morrison, is sure to delight as she interweaves storytelling through timeless swinging jazz standards, upbeat Latin rhythms, tender ballads and, of course, some raucous blues. Emma has toured internationally, including headlining the Havana Jazz Festival and performing at Switzerland’s Ascona Jazz Festival, and has appeared for global icons such as Nicole Kidman and Keith UrbanPrincess Diana, and Princess Mary of Denmark. Her appearance on The Voice Australia introduced her to new audiences, with Ricky Martin famously declaring that her voice “needs to be heard all over the world”.

Emma will be joined by the incomparable Kevin Hunt on piano. Kevin is a leading player on the Australian jazz scene and has been since the late 70s. Having been an integral part of the Don Burrows band for many years, along with fronting his own trio, Emma finds Kevin’s unique approach to the piano fascinating, and with his incredibly supportive accompaniment both Emma and Kevin have the chance to shine individually yet complement each other perfectly.

Well known for spending 20 years by the side of jazz virtuoso James Morrison, Emma Pask has firmly established herself as one of this country’s favourite voices in jazz.

Whilst its fashionable to be a jazz singer these days, she’s the real thing! James Morrison

    Our pricing model

As a non-profit, we prioritise bringing singing and music to our communities, not maximising income. We work to make our ticket prices as affordable as possible, and we’ve shifted to an early bird pricing model instead of concession pricing. This change focuses on equity, allowing everyone to secure tickets at a reduced price and helping us keep the festival accessible to as many people as possible.

Each event will have a set number of tickets available at the early bird price. Once these are sold, standard prices will apply. This ensures we can cover event costs while keeping the festival sustainable and maintaining affordable options for our audiences.
