Cassandra Charlick
Singer, writer, & creative practitioner (TAS/WA)
Cassandra Charlick is a multifaceted creative with a career spanning more than two decades across some of the world’s most prestigious stages and screens. Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, she trained at the Western Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), laying the groundwork for a career that would take her across the globe before settling on an island off an island at the edge of the world.
Her time in London saw her perform everywhere from the West End to regional theatres. She has been the international artist in residence at Tokyo’s Park Hyatt New York Bar — the iconic hotel made famous by Lost in Translation — toured the Middle East in The Sound of Music, and travelled throughout Europe and Africa as a lead vocalist on a five‑star cruise line. Her screen work includes television, short films, feature films and numerous commercials across the United Kingdom and Europe.
Since returning to Australia, Cassandra has performed at theatres and venues throughout Perth and the Margaret River region, often with her South West jazz outfit. In recent years she has also built a celebrated parallel career as a wine communicator and presenter. She is the Western Australian and Tasmanian correspondent for Decanter, contributes to major national and international publications, presents wine and food segments on Channel Nine, and was named the 2024 IWSC Emerging Wine Communicator of the Year. She still isn’t quite sure when she’ll grow up — or what she’ll be — and this performance marks her first musical appearance in her new home of Tasmania.
