Vocally Wild
Mixed voice choir (VIC)
Vocally Wild is a successful, long-standing, mixed community choir, comprising of 80 members led by Music Director Bill Miles and accompanied by pianist Emma Lippa – both experienced professional musicians.
Their repertoire ranges from happy, joyful and fun to serious, classic and challenging. In all their songs they aim to achieve a good performance standard with delightful harmonies, and they never lose sight of the joy of music, and the pleasure of singing together and striving together.
The choir’s highlights include performing each year to an audience of 20,000 at the Bayside Carols, and two performances a year where they entertain friends, family and followers. Members of Vocally Wild have also sung overseas, backed professional performers and sung Mahler’s 8th in the Sydney Opera House. The recent works of which they are proud include Die Nachtigall in German and Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves.
They also know how to let their hair down, performing Beach Boys, Basin Street Blues, and a Rock and Roll Medley at their last concert.
Vocally Wild performed at Festival of Voices in 2024 and had a ball singing in large and small venues, including St David’s Cathedral and Hobart Town Hall, and they are looking forward to performing again in 2026.
