Sharon Stokes
Conductor & vocal coach (VIC)
Originally from Adelaide, Sharon started her musical journey studying musical theatre at the prestigious Western Australian Academy Performing Arts (WAAPA) graduating with Honours in Drama.
Soon after, she began performing educational theatre shows for Book Week and started touring with the Australian company of South Pacific starring John Deterich and Katrina Reynolds. She was also a performer in Swamp Fairies who produced numerous sell-out musical and cabaret shows for the Adelaide Fringe Festival working alongside acclaimed stars Doug Parkinson and John English.
She then moved to Japan after being cast as the Bride of Frankenstein in The Monster Rock and Roll Show at Universal Studios Osaka before joining Princess Cruises as a performer and meeting Darryl.
Settling in Melbourne in 2010, Sharon and Darryl co-founded Entertainment 88, which became a leading vocal academy, and then went onto co-found Pop Choir together in 2014. Sharon continues to perform with trio The Cover Girls AU at major events across Australia and on international cruises. She has also performed in shows Triptych, Children of Eden and Aspects of Love.
Sharon’s performance and passion for singing has led her to help students to find their voice within. She is the respected conductor for Pop Choir and firmly believes ‘if you can speak, you can sing.’
Sharon and Darryl’s enthusiasm and professionalism allow all abilities to participate and get the most out of singing in a group. I absolutely love it!
