Tasmania’s most joyful winter tradition returns as The Big Sing once again transforms Hobart’s waterfront into a vibrant hub of shared singing, live music and community connection.
Celebrate 21 years of Festival of Voices at this iconic free event on Friday 3 July 2026 at 5.30 pm, where thousands of voices will come together under the winter night sky for one of Australia’s largest community singalongs.
This year’s event features acclaimed artist Casey Donovan leading a special mass rendition of this year’s Big Sing son; My Island Home, alongside an exciting line-up hosted by John O’Hara and Gorgi Coghlan.
Audiences can also enjoy performances from Tom Thum, Uncle Gus and The Rimshots, Men in Suits, Queensland Show Choir, Pitches Be Crazy, and Pop Choir in a lively evening celebrating the power of shared voice.
Free, all-welcome and family-friendly, The Big Sing invites everyone to take part, from first-time participants to seasoned performers. Whether you’re singing your heart out alongside thousands of others or simply soaking up the atmosphere, this unforgettable winter event is all about joy, connection and community.

Since its beginnings in 2005 as a small community singalong, The Big Sing has grown into one of Australia’s most iconic free singing events, attracting thousands of participants every year and becoming a defining expression of Festival of Voices’ mission to get all of Tasmania singing.
