
Katharine Tier
Mezzo Soprano (TAS)
Katharine Tier has established herself as a prodigiously gifted and versatile singer with significant experiences on the world operatic, concert and recital stages. Katharine won the Australian Singing Competition at the age of 20 and has represented Australia in Cardiff Singer of the World. In 2006 she became the first Australian female singer to be accepted into San Francisco Opera’s prestigious Adler Fellowship young artist program.
Katharine has performed leading roles with several houses across the USA before relocating to Germany. Katharine has performed with Deutsche Opera Berlin and was engaged as a principal dramatic mezzo with the historied and prestigious Badisches Staats Theater for 10 years, where she earned great acclaim with her interpretation of Wagnerian roles and other major roles such as Didon in Les Troyens, Kitty Oppenheimer in Dr Atomic, and Carmen, to name but a few.
Katharine is an avid concert performer and recitalist who has worked with numerous orchestras and pianists here and abroad.
