Tasmanian Choir Package

Tasmanian singing enthusiasts will be treated to a special program of vocal coaching, singing and exclusive festival entry to a special selection of events. Designed for locals who want to develop their interest in singing and improve their vocal skills, this package is open to individuals or groups upon registration.

Don’t miss the chance to work with one of the world’s great choral conductors – Jonathan Grieves-Smith!

Jonathan is sure to inspire those who love to learn by rote as well as those who enjoy the challenge of reading new repertoire.

In addition Jonathan will bring a special ‘mystery’ song, and take everyone on a journey from learning the first notes to polishing the skills for a thrilling performance in front of seven visiting choirs on Monday evening, 6 July 2020.

The 2020 Tasmanian Choir Package includes:

– Workshops and singing opportunities in the festival program

– Free entry to the Singers’ Lounge for the duration of the festival

– Guaranteed two performance opportunities at the Singers’ Lounge 2 – 5 July

Key Package Dates:

Friday 3 July

Invitation to Big Sing Rehearsal with the incredible Anthony Trecek-King (Boston Children’s Chorus)

6:30pm – 8pm, Hobart City Hall

Saturday 4 July

Participation in the iconic Big Sing event (rehearsal and event times TBA)

Sunday 5 July

Workshop and Sharing Our Music* with Jonathan Grieves-Smith

1:30pm – 4:30pm, Hobart City Hall

*Sharing Our Music is an opportunity for choirs to perform mid-workshop, and learn one song for the Concert at Hobart City Hall (music provided)

Monday 6 July

Perform a combined item as part of the main Choral Concert.

6:15pm soundcheck, 7:30pm performance, Hobart City Hall
