Are you a member of a community choir or vocal ensemble and planning to travel to Festival of Voices in 2023?
This non-competitive, joy-filled experience offers choirs from across the country the opportunity to participate in Australia’s pre-eminent choral festival. Choirs get to sing in a welcoming, inclusive environment, perform in unusual settings and attend special festival events. The opportunity to explore Hobart and Tasmania is encouraged, while meeting and networking with choral friends and colleagues.
Our 2023 Touring Choir Package offers choir members the unique opportunity to sing at some of Tasmania’s most renowned locations. From art galleries to historic sites, this package is the ultimate way to ‘discover Tasmania’ whilst singing for audiences of all sizes!
Choirs in the Community Pop-Up Program
Surprise and delight audiences around Hobart and in unique locations across the city. Choirs are invited to perform to guests and passers-by in a creatively curated program.
The Festival Singers’ Lounge
Often described as the heart and soul of Festival of Voices, we think it’s our best kept secret! Friends – old and new – revel in the glory of scheduled and impromptu performances (sometimes until the wee hours). Audiences are treated to spontaneous song by some of our big-name performers who in turn have been known to encourage anxious altos and timid tenors to overcome any performing fears to bask in the safe and welcoming arms of our audience. It’s always bustling and really is the ultimate Singers Love-In! As well as performing with your choir, the Touring Choir Package grants you unlimited free entry to the Singers’ Lounge (subject to capacity).
Big Sing Bonfire
Touring Choir Singers will have a significant role in our annual Big Sing Bonfire on Saturday 1st July. You will join with other singers and a leading Australian choral conductor to prepare and perform in one of the festival’s signature events.
MONA Flash Mob
Join in the fun of a choral flash mob at the world-famous Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). The flash mob will be performed in the museum mid-morning on Saturday 8 July. A short workshop to prepare will be held prior to the flash mob performance.
