The Loveys….Actually

The Loveys…Actually

6 July 2022  |  8:30 PM  |  Hobart Town Hall  |  $43 / $35

The Loveys – Like a bejewelled version of the Kransky Sisters – kitsch, intellectual and funny as hell!

Packed full of original songs and wry stories, Cocktail Hour explores the truth of middle-aged life – from divorce, dementia, septuagenarian sex to the ordinary and courageous business of love itself.

With outfits ranging from op shop chic to topshelf sequins, Jenny, Janet, Belinda and Pamela bring elegance, sharp wit and moments of unexpected hilarity to their performances.

From humble beginnings as Byron Bay Street buskers, this award-winning group has played at major folk festivals, including Woodford, Bello Winter Music Festival, Nanga and Nannup in WA and Blue Mountains Folk Festival.

Join The Loveys for a delicious hour of songs and hilarity.

“To walk into a Loveys show is to experience a wonderful mash of true cabaret in the Weill/Brecht tradition with the humour and wit of four very talented, contemporary and original performers and musicians. The patter, the instrumentation and the pure joy of each performance takes the audience on ride rich in context and content.”
