Our Free Family Friendly Singalong Returns to MacPoint

On Saturday 2 July Mac Point will come alive to the sounds of hundreds of voices by the light of our festival bonfire.  

 Join a stellar line-up of local and national performers for our annual feel-good singalong. Starting at 5:00 PM with a Welcome to Country and ceremonial lighting of the bonfire. We invite you to rug up, bring the family, and soak up some joy under the stars in the heart of winter, in the heart of Hobart.

NOTE: You are more than welcome to bring a camp chair along to this event, however chairs are not mandatory in 2022.

Please note that there will not be any specific areas marked out on site for attendees planning to sit, so please arrive early to secure your space. There will not be any chairs for hire this year, as previously were in 2021.

Accessibility Information

Getting to the venue 

 

Auslan interpretation 

  • Mike Webb will be interpreting this entire event and will be positioned stage left (the right-hand side of stage if looking at it from the event viewing space). 
  • An accessible viewing space is available in front of Mike. There is no need to book a space in this area, please make your way to the front of the stage to meet with an accessibility marshal there. 

 

Guide Dogs and service animals are welcome at all FOV events. 

 

Guide Dogs and service animal facilities 

  • Water bowls will be available at this event upon request. 

 Parenting Space 

  • A space will be available within the Goods Shed for parents to have a quiet place to settle or feed children. This space will be monitored by an accessibility marshal and will be found by signage close to the internal Goods Shed bathrooms. 
  • Inside the parenting room will be access to drinking water, kettle, microwave, and soft furnishings. 

 Trigger warnings:  

  • Moving lights, strobe lighting and haze effects will be present at this event.  
  • 20 small fire pots and 2 large bonfires will be scattered throughout the event viewing/seating space. 
  • Fireworks will occur at the close of this event. 

Wheelchair Accessibility: 

  • The main event site is a bitumen carpark that features speed bumps, sporadic loose gravel, and dips. The event site will be well lit to make navigating site easier. 
  • Accessible bathrooms are available inside the Goods Sheds. A ramp is available at the end of the Goods Shed (closest to Evans Street) to access these bathrooms.  
  • An accessible viewing space is available in front of the stage. There is no need to book a space in this area, please make your way to the front of the stage to meet with an accessibility marshal there.

Feeling unwell?
Please do not attend this event if you are feeling unwell. It is in the interest of all to stay at home if you have any flu or COVID-19 symptoms. Please review our COVID-19 Ticketing Terms and Conditions here if you are unable to attend for this reason. 

Face masks:
While face masks are not mandatory at any FOV events, you are more than welcome to choose to wear one. Free medical face masks will be available at this event venue entrance upon request. 

Physical Distancing:
This event is a mixture of camp chair seating and free movement. Please be mindful of physically distancing from others when moving through this event space and when placing your camp chairs. 

Hand hygiene:
Sanitiser will be provided at this venue. Please use thoughtfully.
