The Songs of Stevie Wonder

Performed by Soulfood A Cappella Ensemble  

Some Kind of Wonder is a celebration of over 50 years of Stevie Wonder’s classic songs, performed by one of Australia’s premiere pop choirs, Soulfood A Cappella. The show will feature soloists, beatboxing and an accompanist under the direction of Melissa Kenny.

Some Kind of Wonder will include Soulfood’s unique arrangements of such hits as Superstition, I Wish, For Once in My Life, You Are the Sunshine of My Life and many more.

A Multi-Generational Community Choir with Big Hearts 

Soulfood are a multi-award winning Sydney based vocal ensemble spread over 5 parts: soprano, mezzo-soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Each member is auditioned for the group, and many current members have been performing with the choir since its inception in 2004.

Soulfood are four-time winners of the John Lamble Australasian Open Choral Championships, as well as finalists in Channel 7’s Battle of the Choirs

Assistive Listening: 

  • A Hearing Loop is available at this venue. The technology requires the listener to wear a receiver on a lanyard and to insert an earpiece. Please contact the festival if you require use of one of these devices as availability is limited.

  • The Hobart Town Hall Ballroom on Level 1 is accessible to wheelchair users via lift on the ground floor, located to the right of the staircase. The lift is also accessible via the rear carpark and requires interaction with an intercom to gain access. This carpark is accessible from Elizabeth Street. Please see entryway to this carpark here 
  • Accessible bathrooms are available on Ground Floor of the Hobart Town Hall only.
