Following on from the enormous success of the Country Pub Chorus in 2021, we are heading back to the Longley International Hotel for another great night of food, fire and song. Mick Thomas (Weddings, Parties, Anything)  and Brooke Taylor will be teaching us the words to a handful of their favourite songs. It could be covers, it could be original songspart of the fun is in the surprise!

We’ll provide the song sheets you bring your friends, family and your puffer jacket. The fires will be lit and the Longley team will be serving your favourite fare. If 2021 was anything to go by, it’s going to be an afternoon of cracking good community spirit.…and song!

Mick Thomas and Brooke Taylor are hosting our second big country pub singalong.

Mick Thomas
Raconteur, troubadour, balladeer and poet, Mick Thomas is best known as chief songwriter of pub-rock icons Weddings, Parties, Anything. His current band The Roving Commission features old “Weddoes” bandmate Squeezebox Wally on Piano Accordion and a rotating schedule of talented performers to keep the party alive with Mick’s unique mix of folk, roots and country.

Having not spent the Victorian lockdowns idle, Mick and his fine band ended up producing not one but two albums. The first of these was See You On the Other Side which came out in June 2020 and featured the landmark ‘chain recording’ track See You When I’m Looking At You showcasing a plethora of artists such as Angie Hart, Nick Barker, Vicki Thorn and Ron Peno. The second of these ‘City’s Calling Me’ was released July 2021.

Mick’s ever-evolving talents as a writer and performer defines a career as intriguing as it is enduring.
