A Cappella Workshop

A Cappella Workshop

Wed 5 - Fri 7 July 2023  |  3-day workshop

Learn from former King’s Singer Tim Wayne-Wright | Includes performance as part of the A Cappella Spectacular

Under the expert tuition of a Grammy winning artist, you will examine and learn what it truly means to be a singer in an unaccompanied ensemble. Tim will cover the main issues and hurdles that every choir faces – from vowel matching to using vocal colours, all of the key elements of good ensemble singing will be explained and explored. Enjoy perfecting your a cappella singing skills as you craft a range of repertoire, carefully chosen by Tim.

Both individuals and choirs are welcome to take part in this fascinating journey through the glorious world of a cappella singing! This special course will take your ensemble singing skills to a new level.

Repertoire will include:

Danny Boy – arranged by Joseph Flummerfelt

Blessing – David Hamilton

Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher – arranged by Kirby Shaw

“Singing together is a wonderful experience. The sense of camaraderie brings joy to so many, and I’m thrilled for the opportunity to be leading choral workshops in Hobart next year, in collaboration with the remarkable Festival of Voices. At this unique event, participants will cover a wide variety of genres and styles, whilst exploring some of my favourite a cappella tricks of the trade! At the end of the week, the A Cappella Spectacular concert marks the climax of our time together, and it’s set to be a truly memorable occasion as you put all of your new-found techniques and skills into practice. Looking forward to seeing you there!” – Tim Wayne-Wright

This workshop is now SOLD OUT. There are still a few places available for the auditioned Chamber Choir Workshop!

Tim loves the opportunity to adjudicate choral competitions and to coach choirs of all sizes, taking great pleasure from working with musicians of all ages and ability. He is the founder of The A Cappella Academy and enjoys travelling globally to spend time with singers, helping them to master the craft of performance. In March 2021, he emigrated to New Zealand with his Kiwi wife and two children.
